Sasu Karttunen

Postdoctoral Researcher

Sasu Karttunen is a postdoctoral researcher at the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH) and Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). He obtained his PhD in Atmospheric Physics from University of Helsinki, where he worked with large-eddy simulations (LES) and distributed temperature sensing (DTS) of the urban boundary layer. His main expertise lies in LES model development, terabyte-scale analysis of atmospheric data, measurement processing techniques, and atmospheric boundary layer processes.

Sasu's current research focuses on the analysis of spatio-temporal variability in global liquid cloud cover using ground-based lidars and satellite-based radars. His aim is to further our understanding of changes in low cloud cover related to climate change and natural climate variability.
