Carla Becker

PhD Student

​Carla Becker has been a PhD candidate in the Energy, Weather and AI group since August 2025. Carla holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Physics from EPFL, Switzerland. Her research is part of the UrbanAir project, which supports European cities in planning for air quality and heat resilience in the context of a changing climate. Within this framework, Carla’s focus is on advancing our understanding of European heatwaves mechanisms, particularly through the use of machine learning methods.
