Herminia Torelló-Sentelles

Postdoctoral Researcher

Herminia Torelló-Sentelles is a postdoctoral researcher at the Bern University of Applied Sciences. She is part of the UrbanAIR project and works on evaluating urban impacts on clouds using satellite data.
Before joining the Energy Weather & AI Lab, Herminia obtained her PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of Lausanne, where she explored urban impacts on the space-time properties of heavy convective rainfall. She used weather radar data to study urban rainfall signatures across different cities and a convection-permitting model, the Weather Research and Forecasting model (WRF), to understand the thermodynamic and dynamic mechanisms driving rainfall modification.
