Paul Berg

Postdoctoral Researcher

Paul Berg is a postdoctoral researcher in the Energy, Weather and AI group based in Biel/Bienne. He obtained his PhD degree from the University of South Brittany in 2024 focusing on representation learning for images with applications to remote sensing. Beforehand, he graduated from University of Technology Compiègne (UTC), France.
In his research, Paul is currently interested in solar energy forecasting from satellite images. More specifically, Paul is leveraging the high availability of geostationary satellite observations to produce data-informed solar energy forecasts using deep learning models.
